operator logo's. And even picture messages, if you want them... well, when we
HAVE some picture messages. The service works for the whole of Europe! But not
the USA - yet. Jake has been my guinea pig and so far test results are
negative. Or is it positive? The bad one, anyway. |

Yes, you heard it here first - LucasTones is back. And not only is it better, its gonna be updated regularly now that I have finished my exams.
First thing's first - I've appointed a new staff member. Atle Ragnar provides many tones for the site, and will soon be able to update the site at his leisure - please make him feel welcome.
Secondly - operator logo's. If you read that last post, you can see that the machine I used... well, it broke. But its working again now, so anyone who wants a logo just . And I promise, I'm gonna get a form page sorted out so its easier to order the tones.
Lastly, and most importantly - ringtones. As promised, are some new tones, with a guarantee that there will be more to come in the next few weeks.

The second has been uploaded; this one tells you how to convert the tones into other formats (ie, Sony, Motorola, Siemens etc.) by yourself if you can't be bothered waiting for me to do it. It will take a lot longer if you wait, so this could be useful information for you. This of course means that the RTTTL list has finally been uploaded, as well as a list of all the tones on the site in Keypress format.
Also, please if you are interested in LucasArts covers for your Nokia phone. If there is a large enough response I will set up an information page.

The latest is here, and I daresay it's the best yet. It has images and files to download! It's based on the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie being made by Disney. Worth a look if you're a Monkey Island fan!
On a sad note, I have to abandon my project to make the LucasArts Lord of the Rings. I got as far as the trailer and the first installment, but the filesizes ranged from over 200Mb at the largest, uncompressed to 10Mb at the smallest. That's just too large for me to upload, so I can't do it. :(

If you go then you can see the adverts for LucasTones' upcoming Lord of the Rings / LucasArts extravaganza. This is a new addition to the site, where every month I will upload the latest episode in a series of 8 movies featuring LucasArts characters in Lord of the Rings style situations. Who knows, when it's done I may even do the Two Towers and Return of the King as well.

| First things first: Lord of the Rings. Don't buy the DVD! The 4-disc release is out in early november, and is a whole lot better. is the best place if you live in Europe - free postage! Anyway, LucasTones things now. A lot of people want to have the tones on other formats. I'm working on that, but tests are not working too well. I will soon be uploading a list of all the tones in RTTTL format. You can then use the tones on converters (I will supply links) for yourself whilst waiting for me to do them all, should you wish. And, I will be writing a tutorial on how to send the tones to your phone via SMS, for people like Jake who haven't got a composer.

| Well, its been a while since I updated. Its ok, I was on holiday. I'm NOT lazy. Ahem. Well, new tones today. Jojo and the EMI version of the SCUMM Bar theme (you know, why did they change that music?) have been sent to me by superqult and Atle Ragnar respectively. You know The tones are Nokia only - I have been having numerous problems with the conversions of the tones, so I won't have other phone manufacturers versions for a while.

| Super Zaarin saves the day! LucasTones is back - and, as you can see, it actually looks cool! All thanks to Zaarin. Well, looks like the tones will soon be pouring back onto the site, but there has been a misfortune in regards to the operator logos. The service I operate under has told me that I can only use it for free to UK mobile networks. So, the logos will take a backseat for now - they will still be made, but as they can only be used by a minority of the site users the tones will take preference for now. Who knows, maybe I'll come up with a way to make it work in the future.
Also, the other major phone manufacturers - Siemens, Panasonic etc, will soon be supported. We are no longer Nokia only!
